- ICE refused Senator Kim access to detainees during congressional oversight visit — Senator Andy Kim visited Delaney Hall, an ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey, to conduct congressional oversight. ICE and GEO Group, the private prison company operating the facility under federal contract, refused to allow Kim to speak with any detainees and restricted his ability to conduct his oversight duties. Kim observed a woman in apparent distress in a fetal position and reported that facility staff refused to disclose information about her condition.
