- Social Circle, Georgia city officials shut off water to ICE detention facility warehouse — City officials in Social Circle, Georgia padlocked the water meter and shut off water and sewage service to a warehouse ICE purchased in December 2025 for conversion into a detention center holding up to 10,000 detainees. City Manager Eric Taylor stated the lock would remain until ICE demonstrated how water and sewer would be served without exceeding local infrastructure capacity. ICE's own documents indicate the facility would produce 1 million gallons of wastewater daily, while Social Circle's current treatment capacity is 1.25 million gallons per day. ICE's plan relies on a future three-million-gallon treatment plant not yet constructed.
