- Judge Randolph Moss ruled Trump's order stripping NPR and PBS funding unconstitutional — U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss of the District of Columbia ruled that much of Trump's executive order stripping NPR and PBS of federal funding violated the First Amendment. Moss quoted Supreme Court precedent, writing that "The First Amendment draws a line, which the government may not cross, at efforts to use government power—including the power of the purse—'to punish or suppress disfavored expression' by others." The ruling came as Republicans in Congress had voted to cut federal funding from both outlets.
