- US Deputy Secretary of State threatens visa revocation against Mexican officials over Charlie Kirk comments — Christopher Landau, US Deputy Secretary of State and former ambassador to Mexico, publicly warned on X (formerly Twitter) that "foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country" and invited Americans to report foreign nationals making critical comments about Charlie Kirk's death. After a Mexican congressional staffer's televised remarks criticizing Kirk were flagged, Landau responded with an image reading "El Quitavisas" (visa remover) and directly attacked the Mexican news network Milenio, threatening visa consequences. The staffer resigned and Milenio issued a public apology.
